South African Menswear Week AW2016

South African Menswear Fashion Week AW 2016

Answering the rise in demand for menswear, South African Menswear Week is Africa’s only stand alone platform dedicated to the development and promotion of menswear on the African continent. Taking place twice a year in Cape Town, SAMW stretches over four days showcasing only the best of menswear with the attained goal of being the leading platform in innovation, trends, production and promotion of designers. Furthermore, SAMW leads in curation with designers required to have sound businesses, design signature through to their ability to produce with only the best making it through.

“Through the platform and its wide media exposure, the consumer in South Africa is seeing that there’s an alternative to imported brands.” – Ryan Beswick co-founder of SAMW

Ryan Beswick co-founder of South African Menswear Week, hopes to build on the foundation of the success of the first two seasons stating that “not only did we show the world that the depth of design talent in South Africa and Africa is truly amazing, but we now have media from more than a dozen countries wanting to attend and support the platform. Through the platform and its wide media exposure, the consumer in South Africa is seeing that there’s an alternative to imported brands.”
