First of all, thank you to all of you for being with us this year and following the stories and journeys we have shared and discovered. I truly hope that you have been able to learn something, be amazed, and be happy and proud as well as inspired. That is what we aim to do, whether you are an established designer or fashion professional, aspiring or consumer of fashion.
It’s that time of the year. After 11 months, December is definitely the indulgent, fun, festive month filled with gift giving, family time, holiday travel and social events all week because it’s December. It’s not all fun as the key is also to finish this year strong so work is also at it’s craziest rushing to meet targets and goals.
For us, we have had the pleasure in the past months to truly interview and get the backstories of photographers, make-up artists, stylists as well as delve into the business of fashion and celebrating creativity in Africa. Tied into finishing the year is also a time to reflect and look back to see how the year went and what you will be looking forward to next year.
That is why we are dedicating this month to fun, festive fashion with our Holiday Fashion Watch Series as we look to next year and whom you should remember. This is the where, what, who to look forward to and take note of not only this month but also for next year. Perhaps Steve Koby will be your make-up artist for your New Year’s party or even your February Wedding. How about starting next year with a positive healthy attitude towards your body as Wambui Kibue with her “Angelsmile Celebrating You” Campaign celebrating each woman’s inner beauty.
We will also introduce you to other African designers we believe should be in your radar from Aaks founded by Akosua Afriyie-Kumi and Ohema Ohene from Ghana. How about some Kenyan designers whom we believe you should know such as Tosha for bespoke, chic, handmade jewelry, Ikojn brand by Njoki Christine and some luxury leather love from Bush Princess.
So much to be excited about this month and so much more for next year. Looking forward to ending this month on high leading you into 2016 with new goals, new aspirations, new beliefs, new opportunities, new loves and new blessings.
Wishing you all a fabulously festive and memorable December 2015!
