This was the second collaboration with Pitti Imagine at the 89th Edition of Pitti Uomo with menswear brands selected by ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative for its African Designers Programme. Its mandate is to raise awareness not only on Africa fashion but also on social issues partnering with Lai-moo, an Italian organization working with migrants, casting three asylum seekers as models in the show.
“Africa is one of today’s creative poles and this show proves that African designers speak about art, life and innovation. At the same time, we are in an age in which many Africans come to Europe as migrants. We believe in a program that enables them to work in the value chain of fashion,” states Simone Cipriani, Head of the Ethical Fashion Initiative.
