Nairobi Fashion Week kicked off on 23rd August 2013 at the Nairobi Hilton Hotel. Needless to say, it was ALL about fashion. The designers were not only showcasing their work on the runway but also providing us the opportunity to shop directly from them.
On the first day, we had Enzie Porter open the night. We took the liberty to purchase this bracelet from them.
There was also no way we could walk away from the Gonazala Leather store- the temptation was too great.

Other than shopping, we had the opportunity to meet with Mohamed Bana from Bana the Brand, Dayan Masinde, the Creative Director and Brand Manager of Ebony by Rinda, Hellen Gichohi from Hers by Helina.
All in all, the moral of the story from this event is that, if you ever doubted, Kenyans are talented, offering something new and ready to dress Kenya in more ways than one. These designers provided an array of designs from gowns by Vayishali, Galina Takarinova, a mix with ankara and lace to make any outfit look stunning, feminine and adventurous from Afro Street Collection, jewelry for men from Zambarau, leather bags from Gonzala Leather, suits and evening mini dresses from Dafina Fashions.
